Say, do you know someone
who could use this handy reference manual? ![]() (...So do we.)
We're
sorry to say, it's not in print.
In fact, it doesn't
even exist.
We DO, however, offer a number of reliable resources to contact for assistance in preparing and applying for the variety of grants that are currently available.
As the Assistant Vermont State
Fire Marshal, Stan Baranowski has a long career in Fire
Service. For the past 8 years, he has been the prime "go-to guy" when folks need help filling out those darned fire incident reports. You know the ones I'm talking about. Yes, they're a pain... but, the importance of properly reporting all fire incidents is recognized by the Fire Service, the Fire Prevention Division, and (here's the kicker...) ...it's required by Law. What's more, fire incident reporting is required for fire departments to obtain grants from the U.S. Fire Administration, your respective state's Department of Public Safety and the Homeland Security Unit. The data from even a small fire will contribute important information. For additional information on updating your fire reporting, or for assistance, (of course, first - contact your own state NFIRS program manager, then...) write to: vfirs@labind.state.vt.us or call: (802) 479-7575...and ask for Stan. ...Not in Vermont? Not a problem. He fields calls from all over! Remember: Accurate and complete fire incident reporting is still a critical piece of the fire fighting solution. |
